We started our Home Educating journey in May 2016 which seems like a million years ago sometimes but at other times it seems like yesterday.  We seem to have covered so much and done so many different things since we started yet there are still so many new and exciting possibilities and things to discover.

I will admit that it was a difficult decision to make to leap into home education but in the end we just felt that it was the best choice for our family.

We strive for days filled with learning, love and laughter and wish to grasp the many opportunities that arrive in our lives to develop our child’s skills and knowledge.

There are all sorts of Facebook groups, websites and blogs available once you start researching which are full of advice and support. The main problem with any of the research that you do is that you will need to remember that what works for one family may not work for yours.  The only real way to know if Home Education is for your family is to jump in and try.

A piece off advice I wish I had realised at the beginning is that if something isn’t working change it!  That is the beauty of Home Education.

Before starting my family and home educating I was a peripatetic music teacher working for the Local Authority. I taught music in various schools both in groups and full classes. I have always had a passion for music and play violin and piano as my main instruments.

I have a BA(Hons) in Musuc and Literature as my other great joy is reading and studying various works of literature.

Still have some questions? Take a look of my list of things I wish I had known before starting to Home Educate. Let me know if you do decide to take the leap.
